I've seen the suggestion that door strength shouldn't be affected by door control damage on the player's ship -- I'm happy with it the way it is. My issue is that I can knock an enemy's door control into the red and enemy movement is unaffected. Maybe this is a game balance issue (like enemies not powering up ftl from the get-go like the player does) but if it's an oversight, it's a big one.
There are a zillion suggestions in these forums so I'll just leave this as my top one.
Great game!

Are you saying that the enemy doors does not revert back to the standard non blast doors if the subsystem is damaged or that the enemies can still open and close doors manually to walk through them when the sub system is destroyed?slugfest wrote:I've seen the suggestion that door strength shouldn't be affected by door control damage on the player's ship -- I'm happy with it the way it is. Blast. You've made me realize my mistake. I meant they can still move room to room, but of course that is the case. D'oh. Were I boarding more often I probably would have realized.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Door system level '0' does not mean crew cannot pass through doors, it merely means you cannot control the doors remotely. Since the AI never operates doors remotely, Door systems on enemy ship exclusively matter in regards of containing fire and making your own boarders slower. Destroying is not supposed to 'lock the enemy', likewise it does not lock in your people if an enemy kills your door system, either.
