Is it easier to find bonus ships in Normal mode?

Engi ship and federation cruiser are easier on easy because you are more likely to get that far.
The others are not easier (except you are likelier to get far enough in the game in easy mode to maybe encounter them).

There is no difference in probabilities of encountering them or in the encounters themselves.

I don't know, I haven't tried easy yet, unlocked beginner ship layout B, engi cruiser A and B, as well as Zoltan cruiser before defeating the final ship on Normal in Engi cruiser A(after ALOT of trial and error runs)
