Re: [OVERHAUL - USES HYPERSPACE] FTL: MULTIVERSE Version 4.7 [Panic at the Science Center + Hotfix]
The game crashes when I jump to the Slug Royal Nebula for that questline. Have just rebooted and am simply choosing to not go there to avoid the game resetting.

regarding the Merchant, when u attack, at least give the chance to Jump away instead of a alt-right death sentence

Re: [OVERHAUL - USES HYPERSPACE] FTL: MULTIVERSE Version 4.7 [Panic at the Science Center + Hotfix]
I don't know if it's just me, (and if it is, that's fine, please help!) but: I can't get the hang of using the "focus" weapons. These are the beam weapons that really amount to a single shot in one spot.
I've just unlocked the third ship, the "stealth" ship and it comes with a focus gun. I cannot easily target rooms! I'm not sure if it needs me to "drag" like it does for regular beam weapons or what, because when I select the room and move the cursor, I can kind of see the target spot spinning in place.
I find it really unwieldy to use and I now have to very carefully pause and make SURE that I've actually set my shot to fire off.
What I would like is for it to act like other guns and I can just click and know that it's going to fire. But, if this has something to do with the game's handling of the "drag to aim beam" mechanic, is there something I can do to make this easier?
I also had a special gun form the merchant once that was a like a shield piercing bio-beam that was great. I feel like I had fewer problems with that gun than this one.
(Also, I am in love with this mod. I've just discovered it a week ago, after coming back 6 years later from my last play through FTL. Thank you so much for the work!)

When you see the weapons the traveling merchant has for sale, it would be really helpful to have the weapon information displayed on mouseover. I know the weapons are always cheaper than normal stores, but it would be handy to know their stats, for those of us who haven't learned them all off by heart yet

This is a somewhat rare crash - usually just trying again works. The source of the error at the moment isn't known - but it happens with various other nebula sectors too (it might actually be hyperspace, I'm not sure)The game crashes when I jump to the Slug Royal Nebula for that questline. Your FTL will charge as normal, so you can run away like that. When choosing to attack you're also given one last chance to say no and not attack him. After all, you can already see he has upwards of 5 shields and 6 bl2 equivalents before you even fight him.regarding the Merchant, when u attack, at least give the chance to Jump away instead of a alt-right death sentence
This is because they are beam weapons code wise, so they do require you to drag. It's somewhat hard to see when not at full screen (but should be possible) but there is a target line like on normal beams, just very small. Due to hardcoding limitations I can't make them use standard laser targeting while keeping the beam characteristics of partial pierce and never missing. Glad you're enjoying the mod though! Hopefully eventually I can talk hyperspace into adding a less clunky way for the focus guns to target in the future.I've just unlocked the third ship, the "stealth" ship and it comes with a focus gun. I would love to do this... if I could. Also due to hard coded limitations, I can't really mess with the UI at the moment. I'd need hyperspace to implement this, which I hope might actually be somewhat simple to do. It's on the list of requests, so its mostly just a matter of how long until its implemented. When you see the weapons the traveling merchant has for sale, it would be really helpful to have the weapon information displayed on mouseover. I practiced and eventually got the hang of it ... and went of for my FIRST WIN (with Multiverse). Eventually, with enough engine power and cloaking and some shields, I was beastly. This is because they are beam weapons code wise, so they do require you to drag. I'm really enjoying all the different ways to play! I'm on a run now with the little hippo-like Civilian ship which I thought would be lame but I love that I have extra crew and I lucked out on the merchant with "toxic flak" plus a "pro-hull beam" and some recycle bombs and missiles. With patience, I can kill ALL crew on every run and I'm rolling in dough.
So thanks again for the new life that has been breathed into the game. I'm also so happy I joined up now when you've done the ship-unlocks. It's really fun and challenging trying for them!

Uh oh! I just had this unfortunate problem:
https://imgur.com/LvgjKpQ
It asked me if I wanted to "reroute", which I hadn't noticed before, then it gave me a warning (you'll lose any quests that would have spawned), asked if I wanted to continue ... but ONLY let me choose 1. Yes!
I would have chosen No ... I tried hitting "2" but nothing worked.

I got the unique sector with fake exit and hacker broadcasting stations. After destroying 2 of them it gave me the hacker cruiser quest in the same sector. But then I destroyed the others and it gave me the quest again in the next sector. Which was good because I had to run away the first time.

The reroute thing is more an issue with my poor choice of wording than an actual bug. Due to some event limitations I can't add a nevermind button without softlocking the player if they do things out of order. I just need to reword so that it doesn't seem like there should be a second option.
Hacker thing was due to me forgetting that the fake exit (which was a new edition in 4.6 along with the hacker cruiser quest) loads the same event as the normal broadcast stations, meaning you can actually get it twice. It's an easy enough fix luckily.

Is there any way to unlock some or all of the ships in this mod through cheats?
I lost my save file and really don't have the motivation to unlock any of the ships again, but I can't find anything online about it as normal vanilla methods don't work.
