What mods are the best?

Hello, im quite new here and i'd like to ask what mods are actually the best, for now im using this:
http://subsetgames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=30003(which from that i remember cuz i installed it long time ago added better backgrounds but also envinormental hazards)
But after little time it's getting boring, same quests, distresses, ships, etc.
Is there a one big good mod that will add a lot of diffrent stuff? u know, new weapons, envinormental hazards, quests, races, ships, drones, sectors and other stuff? not like much mods added to eachothers but one/couple bigger mods?(would pref to also be balanced and work with the one i gave here)
I know there is a list of mods, but they are too much, and i don't even know them so maybe there is something known to be good?

any mod can be good, its all what your preference is, as for what you are looking for you either want Captains Edition or Arsenal + (English Translation)


Both add new weapons, events, sectors, and ships. However keep in mind playing either of them on easy is like playing the normal vanilla game on normal, there is a bit more challenge but its worth it.

As for just ships, well just find something that looks fun and try em, or check out youtubers and see different ships

Hmm, im still unlocking some ships and won for now only on easy lower than 10 times yet, well it feels hard to install, a lot of download links etc :v also slipstream mod manager says it doesn't append, it globbers ._. so i guess i could have crashes while playing with the better backgrounds version i have
