Haven't played vanilla since before AE and it has never happened before and like i said if i start a new game and then straight away save+quit the save 'exists' and can be loaded no problem however both saves that got deleted i had been playing for a couple of hours straight.meklozz wrote:The artillery problem won't delete your saves. This sounds more like a permissions/administrator account issue or something. Being out of disk space could also keep a save from being created. Either way, probably an FTL problem rather than mod problem. Do you play vanilla/has this ever happened when you did?

All I can really tell you is that, with some research, you should be able to get either an automatic backup working (so you can restore from any (the most recent) point if you lose it) on the save folder, or get an application to monitor the folder for what's going on there, or both. Otherwise it's pretty hard to find out what exactly is wrong in cases like this, sometimes works sometimes doesn't.Turbo215 wrote:Haven't played vanilla since before AE and it has never happened before and like i said if i start a new game and then straight away save+quit the save 'exists' and can be loaded no problem however both saves that got deleted i had been playing for a couple of hours straight.meklozz wrote:The artillery problem won't delete your saves. I'm not too bothered now anyhow as stellaris comes out tomorrow and that will be taking up all my free time from now on for quite awhile. Thanks for the help anyway.meklozz wrote:All I can really tell you is that, with some research, you should be able to get either an automatic backup working (so you can restore from any (the most recent) point if you lose it) on the save folder, or get an application to monitor the folder for what's going on there, or both. Hi, I'm getting a crash upon jumping to the zero grav construction yard sector.
I'm running FTL on Windows 7, my ship is the Vortex, and augments are adv targeting computer, adv cloaking field, and med bot dispersal.

Hm I though that problem was solved... I'll look into it, in the meantime you might want to jump to a different beacon in order to avoid that crash.

did you change something? because when I completely destroy an enemy system(not the enemy destroys mine)it doesn't do the extra damage, so If you attack an auto scout with the fed cruiser C then you can't take it out even if you have those life support masks that allow you to take less damage from low O2.

but also When I was repairing my ship I saw that the enemy ship took a hull point down presumably when they could not take down a fire, so maybe this only happens when they get one of their systems destroyed by a non-weapon source...?Someuntrustworthygit wrote:did you change something? because when I completely destroy an enemy system(not the enemy destroys mine)it doesn't do the extra damage, so If you attack an auto scout with the fed cruiser C then you can't take it out even if you have those life support masks that allow you to take less damage from low O2.

Damaging hull with crew is not something you can change with modding FTL. If you're certain it's not working as intended, you should try reinstalling the game for a start.

Hey Sleeper, I just finished a run with a Rock ship and there were a couple of morally questionable events that didn't allow me to use the Rock Plating as an excuse for it and I wanted to see if they were intended or not:
[*] Forcing a Slave to work for me required a crew check instead of just declaring that I'm a Brutal Rockman.
[*] Attacking an enemy after they surrender also requires a crew check instead of declaring that I'm a Brutal Rockman.

You're a Rockman pirate, not an enslaving Mantis or a merciless Slug. You have some standards after all.IceMaverick wrote:Hey Sleeper, I just finished a run with a Rock ship and there were a couple of morally questionable events that didn't allow me to use the Rock Plating as an excuse for it and I wanted to see if they were intended or not:
