I encountered a BIG problem. I'm in a nebula and im fighting Mantis Scout. My missiles are out and I cannot jumpdrive cause I have no fuel. We are shooting each other but just bringing down our shield and thats it. How long can a fight last? Or do I have to restart again?

I suppose you have no teleporter? I'm afraid the only thing you can do is quit, or turn your shields off, turn your oxygen off, open the doors, and die.

Unfortunatly you got stuck in a stalemate where neither ship could destroy the other. Since you're out of fuel that's game over for you i'm affraid.

It's allways a good idea to buy a little extra fuel since you never know where you will be able to buy some. Planning ahead is also important when relying on drones or missiles. Missile weapons are great but should never be used excessively. They're best used against enemy shields so that your other weapons with unlimited ammo can finish the job. And certainly never set a missile weapon on autofire.

Typically after every battle you collect some fuel/missiles/drones but not enough to complete the game. Esp. not missiles. A well stocked ship will be in less danger of running into this problem, so try and keep supplies > 10 and fuel > 20 if you can.

There have been requests for AI to be made such that stale mated enemies will jump away once they realize there's no hope of them winning.

But you're the one with no fuel. Surrender is your only option, but that doesn't exist in the game. Basically it's over if you run out of gas and can't defeat an opponent.
