Just got this game due to it being on sale and I thought I'd give it a try and I really like how simple-yet-complex it is! I just want to know if I can do two things:

1. I prefer naming my guys according to what I want them to do, so I start off with Pilot, Shields, and Guns. Is there a way to rename the guys that get added later in the mission?

2. Is there a way to **save** my save game? As much as I see the point of the current system, sometimes I don't really have the time nor desire to start from scratch at the beginning.

Hello and welcome.

1. You can only name the starting crew. Others that may join your ahip are randomly named and can't be renamed.

2. Yes there is. When you choose to Save & Quit, a file called continue.sav is created in *User/Documents/Games/FasterThanLight (Win7). Other OS keep this file in different places so you may have to do a file search to get it. Make a copy of it, and restore it if you want to continue from that save game.

Would be cool if it were possible to rename the add-on crew though, make it easier to manage them.

I think a lot of people would like that. May not be logical or sensible in context (Hi and welcome to your new ship! Btw, your name is now: Kittens. Hope you like it.) but fun is more important. Maybe it can be included in a later update.

However, the name database is composed of the Kickstarter backers and it may not be very nice to them to have their names editable. Then again i'm not sure it would be so terrible, the names would still be used by default.

It simply helps in defining the roles of the crew... If need be, their "original" names can be kept, so the new name can be like a call sign or something.
