Transferring save to Steam

I've been playing for a while on a netbook which doesn't have Steam installed, if I redeem my code on Steam can I transfer my save data across? I don't want to have to start again

Shouldn't be a problem, files for your save/unlocks is stored in My Documents/My Games/Faster Than Light so you should be able to copy them to a new computer.
And I don't think the differend versions should have any problems since they all probably save at the same place. Make a back up of the files if you wory.
