2x stasis chamber = 2x crystal dudes?

In my current game I've come across the stasis chamber event twice.

I read somewhere that in the 2nd occurrence of the event, if you grab the weapon instead of the stasis chamber it breaks the quest chain - so I grabbed the stasis chamber a 2nd time just to be on the safe side.

However, when (if?) I find the Zoltan research facility - will I get 2xcrystal dudes? or will only 1 stasis chamber be opened?
If the latter, am I safe in selling one of the stasis chambers?
and if so, which one is it safe to sell? the 1st or 2nd listed in my inventory?

- Engi Homeworlds to stand a chance of finding a Zoltan research facility
- Rock Homworlds for the wormhole.

Baaaah. Game was going so well too :cry:

I'll keep looking for the Zoltan facility with my 2xcryo chambers, so I can at least answer my own question.

Anyhow, the answer to my question is:

You only get one crystal dude, and only 1 stasis chamber in your inventory is consumed.
As to which stasis chamber it was that was consumed, I have no idea.

I suppose a 2nd Zoltan research facility might open the other stasis chamber; I'll hold onto it just in case.

I think you'll need two Zoltan researcher events, one for each Crystal crew you want to resuscitate, but I'm not entirely sure.

A 2nd Zoltan research facility! (this time in the Zoltan Homeworlds)

Not a bad setup for only sector 6 :D
AND I have an Ion Bomb & Glaive Beam in my cargo hold ready to be fitted once I max weapons.
Ion Blast 2 + Ion Bomb + Glaive Beam should chew through the boss in record time. :lol:

All I'm lacking is a pre-igniter.......

Never did get the pre-igniter, still roflstomped the boss though.

Yeah, it is getting a little tiresome. Just had a game where I got the pod, opened the pod, and then had 4 red sectors in a row.... none of them turned out to be the Rock Homeworld :cry:

The only redeeming feature of the challenge is that the Rock B is a really consistent performer.
So long as I don't get badly screwed over before I can get the 75 scrap together for a crew teleporter, I'm pretty much assured of getting far enough for a viable attempt at the crystal unlock.

Did it :D

Pirate sector, immediately followed by Zoltan sector, immediately followed by Rock Homeworld!

I was sooooo lucky to not miss the gateway in the Rock system; it was a 1 in 3 chance, and one more jump would have had the rebels overrun the jump point.

Crystal sector was pretty uneventful; 2 shops, both with crew & weapons (could have had 7 crystal crew in total if I felt like it) :lol:

Burst Laser II + 2xCrystal Burst II works pretty well;
though I also like 2xcrystal Lock-down bomb + 2xCrystal Burst II.
