achievement 4 miss

Hey guys
i love this game - but the last few rounds were anything else except of fun
2 of 3 shots are missed - even if the guy on the weapons is ranked lvl 2

i would agree on sector 4-5 or higher that the enemie ship has a high dogde chance
but not on sector 2 with 3 shields or cloaking

THATS WHY I SUGGEST AN ACHIEVMENT 4 MISSING 10 TIMES IN A ROW
i would call that achievement
"the blind guy @ the weapons"
or
"u missing something ?"
ooooor
"target-weapon-system-error"

Welcome crapman

I'd call that achievement "Bad day at the Gunnery station" :D

Yes the enemies evasion goes up as you progress through the game, but sometimes you get a really nimble opponent even earlier. Sectors 1 and 2 are relatively safe but every enemy ship has a randomised distribution of system upgrades and weapons. Maybe you bumped into one that was weak on offense but highly agile?

I'm affraid you've got the wrong idea about the gunners skill. Higher skill reduces reload time only. It does not give you a higher chance to hit the other ship. Hover your mouse over the cremembers name to display their skill levels, then hover over the skills to see their exact bonuses.

One of the priorities in every playthrough is getting weapons capable of stripping shields and immobilising enemy vessels. Burst lasers or ion weapons work wonders. Missiles can be used too as they ignore shields. Since the shields recover very quickly and evasion makes some of your shots miss, it's really important to send a large amount of bullets the enemies way. Hopefully some of it goes through and does damage. With damaged engines their evasion will go down, and engines usually soak up a few levels of damage and take time to repair. Targeting the helm will instantly stop the enemy ship but its repaired very quickly and theres allways someone at that station.

Bullet hell isnt the only way though. Beam weapons do not miss. Ever. And the Halberd beam can punch through a lvl1 shield as well. The Glaive Beam even makes it through 2 layers of shielding so your other weapons have less work to do. If you have any weapons after that sucker drains your reactor :D

A better and more riskier way of doing damage is to do it by teleporting a boarding party onto the enemy ship. This has many rewards and with upgraded teleporter and medbay as well as experienced boarders you can take down ships with extemly powerfull weapons and fast engines even before they manage to shoot at you.

There's also attack drones and all kinds of bombs but i've ranted enough. Happy Federation Saving! ;)

Having a skilled guy on weapons does not affect the miss chance. Miss chance is determined solely by how much engine power the target has, and whether its pilot and engines are manned.

In any case, there is an inverse achievement to what you suggest, namely having the enemy fail to miss 5 times in a row with max engines (this achievement is easily gotten in stage 2 of the boss thanks to all the beam drones and the fact that beams can't miss.)

Shield recharge boosters and crew shield experience should both improve how fast your shields recharge, yes. You can also get more than one shield recharge booster for even faster recharging!

My memory fails me right now but someone once posted a list of all augs that 'stack' together and give increased bonuses. I'm sure the Auto-Reloaders stack with each other as well as with your gunner's skill. So basically the more skill and augs that give a single bonus, the better off you are. Also works with shields as VanguardOfValor posted.

Drone Recovery and Rock Plating/Hardened Electronics? do not stack afaik.

If you get a duplicate augment that doesn't stack, it tells you so and converts it to scrap. That happened to me once when it gave me engi medi-bot dispersal when I already had it.
