White screen on FTL startup

Hey! I was wondering if anyone has any ideas about how to fix a problem I've been having. Upon launching FTL, I get a white screen that does not progress to any other images. The FTL intro music begins to play, but that's it. Is there any information I could provide that would help someone with the diagnostics? Thanks so much.

Sure. Tell us what operating system you use (Windows, Mac, Linux?), which version (Windows 7?), how many bits (32 bits, 64 bits?). Tell us also what graphics card you have, and if you have a laptop, it is interesting to know which manufacturer made it.
Most likely, this is an issue with graphic drivers which are not up-to-date. So first thing, you want to make sure you have the latest version available, either from your laptop manufacturer, or from the maker of the graphics card, and that this latest version is well installed.
