It's officially been two weeks since I've seen a slug, maybe more. I usually make 1-2 playthroughs on a given day, so it seems improbable that it's coincidence.

Just to be totally clear, I haven't seen a slug anywhere, neither on enemy ships nor having joined my crew. Humans, Engi, Zoltan, Mantis, and Rockmen abound, but there's not a Slug in sight.

There are slug ships, however. For the sake of this post, I went and found one. The crew? Rockmen.

I wonder if it's because of the update. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

I've always found slug crew to be MUCH less common than all of the others.

Your best chance to recruit a slug is if you check the shops in slug controlled nebulas.

You were right, I found one in a shop in a nebula sector. I usually avoid nebula sectors, so, if slugs only appear in nebulae, that explains why I've gone so long without meeting a slug...I think.

There was still a slug-related bug. I sold a weapon so I could afford to hire him. I paid 45 scrap, got a confirmation noise, but he didn't join. So, I sold another weapon and an augment to afford it again. This time it worked. So, unless I'm quite confused, there's still something funny going on.
