Pretty decent, but the topic of using vacuum and blast doors to defeat intruders is worth a little more depth. After reading the
boarding defense thread, I found that you can often defeat heavy odds (6+ boarders) with just doors.
In your first boarding example, you open the airlock where the boarders appear, but leave air in the compartment they're trying to enter. It takes a significant amount of time for the air to vent from the new room when they break through, so the enemy doesn't start taking damage immediately. So what you do is vent that room from the other side. Once the room is dangerous, you turn life support (O2) off, and close all the doors.
This is not the same as your second example, since you don't have to vent the entire ship - just areas where the boarders can reach. If at all possible you want to leave air in the life support compartment in case you take a hit there, so you can repair it without taking vacuum damage.
The main drawback to the limited approach as opposed to venting the entire ship is that you need to wait to see where the intruders board, whereas if you vent everything they teleport into vacuum and start taking damage immediately.

If you don't have blast doors, you can still suffocate the enemy boarders by tag teaming them in the vacuum. I've managed to repel a 4 mantis boarding party with Zoltans and no blast doors using this trick.

If you're fighting in vacuum, you're adding damage to everyone involved at a steady rate. If they have a higher DPS (Mantis, or you have Engi) then it's a net gain for you. Conversely, it's not something you want to do if you have the DPS advantage. It can also work to your advantage if you're outnumbered, though that's generally bad news because your guys can't stand up to that long.
