Hello everyone,

I apologize if this question is in the wrong place.

I have been looking through the FTL DAT files with the FTL DAT Manager. I am looking to edit the crew portraits .png file (like this mod: http://www.ftlgame.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=24541) with art of my own. Unfortunately, I don't know where the .png file is or what its name is. I assume it is somewhere in the resource.dat file, but I haven't had much luck yet.

Does anyone know where I can find this file and what its name is?

IIRC from skimming the topic way back, the portraits are part of each race's animation sheet. Those files are located in resource.dat/img/people; it might be a good idea to open up Trilobite's mod to see how he had achieved that, and mimic his solution -- there's no point in reinventing the wheel.
(to open his mod, simply change the extension from .ftl to .zip, and then unpack it and browse through the files)
(you can also extract the game's archives [they're essentially huge zip files], so that you can browse them without having to use FTLDat as an intermediary)
