A simple idea further make every playthrough unique

First off, I love the game, and am in the camp of those who desperately want more of everything
Here's my idea:
Upon starting a new game in the hangar, have an option for your ship to be chosen randomly from the list of ships and variants you have unlocked.
Basically, there are ships that lend themselves to my usual play style, and others that I pretty much would never choose for myself. However, with an option like this I could start a new game, and have a random ship that I might not have normally chosen, but will give it my best anyway and see what happens. To me, this fits the same theme of all the random encounters of the game in the first place. A wrong choice could result in a crew member permanently lost; The player then chooses to either press onward, or start over. Same thing here. Sure a player could restart until they get a ship they like, but those who appreciate the theme of FTL will press onward with what they were given.
Also, a sub-idea that I like: I like naming my initial crew after friends and family, but sometimes wish that there was some way for me to make a list of potential names for my starter crew, and then have the game randomly pick from it. I am picturing having anywhere from 1/2 dozen to two dozen names of friends and family that I input for the game to randomly select from. This way it is customized to me, but each game I play is still randomly generated and unique.
