An official release has been made over on Working Mods.
Check it out: http://www.ftlgame.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=26636

Hi!
So a recent mod request thread (you know the one) got me inspired.
I don't have the time to make any new ships right now, but I decided to knock up some (very quick) spritesheets.

Please note: this is a working mod, but without ships built for it it's kinda pointless
This is why it's in this forum; it's an asset for shipmakers.

If anyone is planning on making Christmas Ships or Mods, then feel free to include links to these .FTL files (if you want to re-host them then by all means go for it, if you're including them in the file then please give credit and a link to the CrewD compatibility file)

Details

The changes are:
  • Engi crewmembers are now Elves
  • Crystal crewmembers are now Santa
Beyond this, no changes have been made to weapons, effect sprites or flavour text. If you want to edit any of that then go for it.

Possibly it's a bit limiting, but i think it makes the most sense in terms of rarity and abilities.

Let me know if there are bugs, but I'm pretty content to leave this as is now.

Merry thanks-

OK, been working on this a while, and ended up making a whole ship.
Meet; The Sleigher!

The ship comes with custom artillery, sound effects, Santa, and 2 Elves; the mod also wipes the Crystal and Engi blue options from the game for the sake of immersion, and replaces them with some new events.
The Elves have a unique personality and abilities; they are insanely powerful - in some instances warping reality using their 'supernatural power' - but also highly volatile (the outcomes often range from unexpected to bizarre).

Like I said in the preview thread; I want to release the whole lot at the end of the week.

I have a 80% completed FTL file sat at home, and if anyone is up for it I'd really appreciate some play-testers doing a run before the end of the week, so I can hit the December deadline.
