but yeah, I guess pushing 5 damage through the shilds is neat Do you take out shields/pilot first or go for the weapons?

Hah, that's an awesome strategy, I wish I could get that all the time.


My strategy is most often to use teleporter to take out his weapons and then hope that you can missile through his hull.

Cloaking is the best against power surges and friendly drones (anti-personnel and sys repair) and really really awesome and helpful.

Heh, I use boarding almost exclusively, first stage I simply killed all weapons but one, then I shot his medbay and slaughtered his crew.

4 pad teleporter + ion blast 2 + four fully combat vet mantis + hull smasher 2 laser + defence 2 drone, 32 drone parts, and a drone recovery arm. I win. Silly boss and his finite crew, and thankfully for it.

If you kill the crew, they don't come back, right? What if you kill all his crew on stage 1?

Then the ship will become an AI ship and repair automatically, which is bad. If you kill everyone but the person manning the heavy laser, you're well off because he can't repair anything or put out fires.

Ah, yes, I thought it would be something like that.

I always maintained the the Burst Laser II gives you the best damage for the power consumption

Actually, that would either be the Mini Beam, which can hit 3-4 rooms when positioned well for one power, or if you're a cheap shot and don't want to aim the beam, the Dual Lasers on the stealth ship give you 2 damage for 1 power.
