Mod request! Trading/crew/augs

Hey everyone! I've been playing around with FTL:CE lately and I love the trading feature. At the same time, it's a bit... "bad" how you can only hold three augmentations, including trade goods! Is there a way to increase the maximum number of augs to say, ten? Or have three ship augmentations and five trade slots?

Also, increasing the max crew! I'd like to have some serious crewage going on in my ubercruisers. Five Mantis for security, three Engi for repairs, three Rockmen for fire control, a Slug manning the sensor station etc. Screw the Kestrel, I want the Enterprise!

This would mean re-doing the UI though, which could be an issue. I'd be grateful if anyone could do this for me, or at least help me do it myself! Thanks!

Neither of these are possible with current modding techniques. I'd suggest brushing up on this thread to understand which aspects of the game are flexible and which are hardcoded and beyond our reach.

Okay then, so crew is definitely out. I should have found that before!

However, is it still a no-no to increase the max number of usable augments? It says you can't create new ones, but can you add new slots? Also, would it be possible to allow the trade dialogue in CE to be opened a second time after it is closed?

It is actually possible to do that during some tricky techniques, and it is possible to make trade augments into "dummy weapons" which could then be placed in your cargo hold. However, this has its limits as well. This has ben talked about on the CE thread before, but really... It's just too much work to change the system from the way it currently is. It wouldn't be that much better anyway if trade goods could be placed in Cargo.

This game has no mod support, therefore hardcoding limitations prevent most big changes. Welcome to the FTL modding community...

Oh, really? I think cargo would be better... or maybe adding a secondary slot for trade goods?
