There is no exact way to make a ship hull, but lineart is a good way start.

To be a little clearer Dragon, what you're asking is to learn how to art, not how to mod. We're more than capable of helping you with getting a ship working, but the actual design? Color schemes, appearance, and so forth? That's on you - something you'll need to learn for yourself. The same principles that go into making a ship hull apply to just about any piece of artwork you'd create.

To elaborate on Kieve's statement, though the design is on you, I would advise starting with lineart- draw the outline and major 'lines' of the ship first.

i was thinking of splicing ships together and making a good connection between spliced parts then recolouring figuring that would be easier, if you could teach me how that or show me a video on how to do that i would be greatfull

Splicing and recoloring are actually more difficult in some cases- you're trying to work within set boundaries. I can't really help you in the splicing department, as there is really no good way to do it. I'm currently attempting to do some lineart myself.

Well, IMO the absolute easiest splicing method is taking some gib images, and removing the gray metal parts, so that you end up with parts of the original hull image. Then you can just rearrange them by moving/rotating/flipping them around, until you end up with something that looks nice to you.

At least, that's how I've created both of my ships, anyway *shrug*
