Blank screen (With desktop in background)

I have noticed that this issue (Or similar to it) have been submitted in the past yet i have not seen any resolved (Unless in private conversations).
What happens right now is that i use steam on 2 PC's. 1 is a desktop and the other one is a laptop. On my desktop it works just fine and i can run the game to it's fullest and can play it normally while on my laptop all i see is the background behind the FTL window and after a very short period of time the music starts playing in the background while i cannot do anything in the game window. Because the game starts at a window mode by default the cursor will disappear once entering the window borders and re-appear once i get it out of it. When i try to run the game in fullscreen it will go all black and i will only hear music without the ability to do anything about it until i force shut down the game (With Alt + F4 for example).
I have updated the graphic drivers yesterday and all the other drivers are up to date as well.
Will be much appreciated if i can be guided for a solution.
