Black dotted overlay in windowed mode?

My FTL has a strange black dotted texture over it when I play in windowed mode, which is the mode I prefer to play in.
Changing to a full screen mode fixes the problem, but I would very much like to play in windowed.
I've also tried setting the game to a manual resolution but it still has the dots regardless of the window size.

I tried to attach a picture but the size was too big, so I'll have to edit one in later if I can.

Edit: I could not upload directly to this board so I used imgur.

As you can see it's almost impossible to read the text or anything on the screen, especially once you start playing the game.

What computer are you playing the game on? Specifically, what display adapter? You can check in Control Panel -> Device Manager if you're using Win.

I have an AMD Radeon HD 6410D display adapter.
The OS is also 64 bit windows 7 if that helps.

Edit: I ran an update for the adapter and the game works fine in windowed mode now, thanks a bunch!
Now my Youtube vids keep crashing my adobe plugin though, so I'll have to go find a way to fix that lol.

Glad you got it fixed :) That is a very unique bug. ATI display drivers are spectacular in the variety of ways they mess up.

Yeah, it's insane how many things will go crazy after you simply update the drivers.
I ended up having to roll back the update because my adobe flash plugins wont work with the newest update installed for some reason, and it causes all my browsers to crash, so I'll just have to settle with playing in full screen for now until a new update rolls around for the adapter I guess.

Good to hear one problem is solved. As for the ATI driver nonsense. That's why i woved never to use any ATI tech ever again. The good points don't matter if it never brings anything but misery. That was 10 years ago. :(
Not saying their competition never messes up, but the level of "fail" ATI drivers reach is staggering.
