FTL doesn't save anything?

None of my achievements are saved. None of my unlocked ships. You can't save a game or continue when you have to quit...
Are you seriously expected to spend hours at a time and have no way to continue? Is my install bugged somehow?

There must be something wrong with your install. In a correctly running game you can save your current progress (though you can't save multiple backups) and each time you get an achievement you keep it through all plays.

The game stores the profile and savegame in "C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\FasterThanLight" (Win7)
For some reason the game cannot access this folder so it cannot load the profile.
Do a computer-wide search for prof.sav. This is the profile file and it may be possible the game created a profile somewhere where it can't read it. Something went wrong during installation i guess, or your user account does not have permission to acces the /username folder.
Either copy the profile into your own user folder, or try to run FTL as administrator. Please report back if you solve the problem or still have issues.
