Question: Shield Graphics for my Ship

Simple Question: How pronounced should my shield graphic be?
I know it changes based on how many levels your shields have. Should the graphic appear to be a "4" or a "1" when I make it?

It should be a "4" rather than "1", that's for sure... I think FTL displays the shield with alpha value 20% * (level), but I'm not sure.
Either way, it's best to test it yourself with a ship starting with level 4 shields, see how it looks at multiple levels and just tweak it until you're happy with it.

Ok, it took me awhile to get what you're asking.
Starting transparency should be really low, let's say 0.5 on your scale or maybe lower. Definetly try a few test versions since that's the easiest way to know for sure.
