I cant seem to repack my dat files, I've been trying to use FTLdat but I get these errors
Listing files to pack ...
Create datfile ...
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<string>", line 736, in <module>
File "<string>", line 733, in main
File "<string>", line 615, in main
File "<string>", line 494, in cmd_pack
File "<string>", line 164, in __init__
IOError: [Errno 13] Permission denied : 'C:\\Documents and Setting\MyName\\Desktop\\FTL Ships\\Galaxy_Class_Cruiser\\Resource\\data'
any help would be awesome.

FTLdat appears to be looking for "Resource\data" instead of "Resource\data.dat"?
That said, I think you'd find it easier to just zip up your custom files (data/, img/, etc), rename the archive to "GalaxyClassCruiser.ftl", and patch with
Slipstream Mod Manager.

I've tried repackaging the file into a zip with Stuffit and renaming as a .ftl but GMM doesn't seem to recognize the .ftl

1. It is generally a better idea to use Slipstream instead of GMM.
2. Are you sure you're not just renaming GalaxyClassCruiser.zip into GalaxyClassCruiser.ftl.zip? This can occur if you have the right settings enabled in Windows, but I'm not an expert.

Read this to learn how to show extensions on various Windows systems.

Thanks for showing me that link, it did infact save it as a .ftl.zip so I removed the zip and it reverted to an FTL thanks again
