Mantis Scout hitbox problem

From what I can tell, the bottom-most room on the Mantis Scout is sharing a border with the shields. By aiming laser shots at it, I've been able to (inconsistently) hit both the room and the shields at the same time. This deals damage while knocking out the shield as normal. As I had previously only seen this done by drones, I figured that it had been solved by the patch that stopped them from going inside the shields to shoot, but I just ran into it again with a Heavy Laser.

Huh, I've never seen that, though I don't tend to target that room very much.
Though what bug was fixed with drones? I had a recent (on camera) experience where a drone fired, then moved inside my shield and fired again, hitting a room even though my ship was up. This was not a month ago on the newest version of FTL.

I guess it's not fixed after all? You might want to pull up that video for us.
As for the room, I imagine that the problem has been unnoticed so far only because that room is such a low priority target, even when it does have the teleportation system. I only saw it this time because I was trying to suffocate the enemy by lasing the shield and then ion-ing the oxygen, and I happened to pick the bottom room for a laser shot during the process.

It was in the past dozen or so videos I've posted. Now I wish I summarized them in the YouTube description like I always thought I should.
I'm pretty busy this weekend and can't watch a lot of videos but I AM on version 1.03.3 (I just checked to make sure) and it DID happen

I'll try to sneak in a few high-speed viewings on Sunday. I'm pretty sure it was the Duality, based on my memory of the shield size/shape and room hit (Doors, near the bottom of the ship).
