So earlier I was fighting a ship and it offered me a slave. I took the offer and let the repair drone do it's job, because I'm lazy. Eventually the other ship exploded because of a fire or something, and no reward. I'm not sure if this is a bug, but just in case. (and there was no event, so that's ruled out. )

Once you end the encounter by taking an offer, the encounter is over.

If the opposing ship happens to explode (usually because there was an uncontrollable fire on board before you accepted the terms of surrender, or due to asteroid impact) you won't get any additional salvage from that ship.

By taking the slave, you ended the encounter and were no longer entitled to any salvage after the ship exploded.

Not to say that I think it makes sense, but that seems to be the way it's coded.

Same happens if you capture a ship udsing your boarding crew. If it's got little HP left and fires burning, better get your crew back quickly before it blows up. Again, you don't get a reward when it explodes because you will strip the ship of all usefull things as soon as the last defender dies.

I prefer it like this, as do most players I think. It seems like a bit of a cheat to double dip, getting the slave and also getting scrap for destroying the ship.
