Hi,

I was struggling with an issue with resolution with this game previously. Essentially, the game screen expanded beyond my visible display, even though my resolution of the screen was 1080p. The problem is that I am using an HDTV as my screen, and in order to make much of the screen readable during normal use (in Windows 8 or 7), I have to set my icons and fonts to be 150% default size in the Windows display settings. This causes a conflict with the way FTL (and Spacechem incidentally) draws to the screen. It uses this setting to display text, so everything ends up being too big and won't fit properly. To fix, I had to go to the properties for the executable for the game, click on the "Compatibility" tab, and check the "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" box. This causes the application to use the default sizes and everything fits correctly now. This was causing me some grief and I didn''t find a solution elsewhere on the net, so I just wanted to post this here in case someone finds it helpful.

hey i know this is a answer question that i know is pointless but you may have to fix the full screen option. on my laptop i have to use stretch or it is impossible to get it full screen. i mean at least someone read this and it didn't get lost in a sea of posts.

Actually, this particular issue caused size issues no matter what the screen options were. I tried everything, including trying to use the manual screen resolution options. It's only a problem specifically if you upsize the icon and font sizes in the Windows display settings. Before, to play spacechem, I had to make the font/icon sizes normal, which required me to log out and back into windows, which was a real hassle. This removed the need for that and makes the game play as it should.

oh wait sorry when i was reading it i didnt see the last sentence, my bad also do you think that you cant help me because i cant get the ship you get for besting the game to work that often, my post should be under your's so could you answer there if you want to.

Belated thanks for that solution. There are other issues involving multimonitor displays but at least there's a way to get around some TV output issues.
