Hey guys, I was thinking of making an FTL ship. This would be my first to ever be released and I think this might work well.

So far all I've done is what the ship looks like, which was basically messing around with the Carnelian's gibs.

If you have any name suggestions for the ship that would be great. Thanks

Neat design! The Carnelian was boarding focused, maybe the new one could go into a similar direction?

Personally, I had some interesting game experience with ships that can support boarders with its weapon systems, in the manner of providing covering fire. You would need custom weapons for that. Vanilla crystal weapons already are shield piercing, so a light crystal burst that pierces shield and only damages crew would be plausible. The ship could have just a weak boarding crew (one crystal two humans?) and a small teleporter, to force the player into this playstyle for the beginning.

I did a quick recolour of the crystal burst and a modification of the projectile for that concept if you are interested:




The Carnelian might have been named after this red mineral. Maybe you could name the new one after something similar (like Vermilion or Lopezite?)
