Game won't start

Hello guys. I seem to be having a problem starting FTL.

When I open up FTL, the loading screen comes up, but, where the loading bar is usually, there is a small white box. After a few seconds, the game closes. Any help will be appreciated.

Can anyone help? I can't play the game until this is fixed.

EDIT - Also try using the verify cache option if using Steam version. Some mods cause issues with the latest version of FTL, are you using any mods?

I bought the game from the FTL website, and I don't have any mods installed. I did try to, thougH (with GMM). I use a windows 7 PC, and the game worked fine before.

Hello! Sorry about the problem. Since the loading screen image isn't working, I'm guessing that something has happened to your resources file. Can you try redownloading and installing FTL? Since you tried to install mods, that could have caused a problem that might require you install FTL to a different installation folder.

Thanks. I will do that, but I need to know one thing...
Will I have to buy the game again, or is there a place I can re-download the game? Sorry if I'm missing something obvious.

If you bought the game from the web site, you can always redownload it using the URL that was sent to you when you first bought it. If you lost that email, there's also a way to receive it again.

If you bought the game from Steam or GOG, I believe they also let you download / reinstall it as much as you want.
