Sorry to be off nusance with this inquiry, but i have been researching to see if my computer could run ftl. As there is no demo I have no method of testing its compatibility. If anyone can help me with my predicament these are my specifications (its quite an old pc, about 5 years)
Display adapter/ graphics card: Mobil Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU T2390 @ 1.86 (dual core so I've seen it run games such as Dawn of War: Dark Crusade which requires 2.2 GHz.)
3 Gigabites of RAM
Running Windows Vista

The graphics chip (and its drivers) will be the major issue. Make sure you find the latest driver available from your vendor, and check its version.
I have a laptop running a slightly more recent Intel chipset (GM45), under Windows XP. I am stuck with relatively old drivers (version 6.14) and I can tell you that FTL does not work on this configuration.

Thank you for the advice and i will look into this predicament. So it doesn't work in the slightest on your computer? Or is it running with a great amount of lag and other difficulties?

Also do you know if they will ever configure a demo? or is that just in hindsight and they are hindered from doing so? To my understanding there was one a resonably long time ago but was then taken away from consumer use.

The Intel chipsets are known to cause headaches. Newer HD chips cause no problems but older ones are not officially supported simply because they are so unpredictable. It may or may not work, but it doesn't look likely.

If you buy the game directly from us on our website (
http://www.ftlgame.com/) then I will happily provide a refund, no questions asked, if it doesn't work
The 'demo' we had at one point was way back when the game wasn't even done yet. It was a special temporary version of the alpha available on OnLive. We haven't had the time to put together a demo for the completed version, sorry about that.

Yes, i have purchased it and it works flawlessly. Even for my 5 year old computer no lag is evident and it runs in a sterling fashion.

Great to hear that.
Wish it wasn't so unpredictable...
