[ISSUE] Infinite Space bug?

Hey FTL players, I have an issue, I currently am running Infinite Space, the newest version, with the high-res version. I am currently trying to play it with the Scarab mod, but it has overwritten the default ships, i have cleared my Grognak's Mod Manager, new Infinite Space and multiple re-installs of the game, but no avail. Does anyone know why this is happening, and how to solve it? It also crashes when i start the game.

Side note: I did not know what category to post this in.

Also, the ships are other mod ships, which are the Hayabusa Battle-cruiser, Merlin Fighter and the Tsunami Ion Cruiser

Your description of the problem could use some work, but from what I could understand, it's the issue with mods being baked into GMM's backups.

Thanks, it works, a lot of things just went wrong and I did not know how to fix it. The game now works with mods again. :D

Now that's odd.
From your first post I take it that you've launched FTL unmodded, and it worked. Then tried installing some mods and it started crashing.
The only explanation is that one of the mods crashes the game. Mods that are large in scale (Infinite Space), or fiddle with events, may be incompatible with FTL 1.03.3
Also it's generally a bad idea to try to play several modded ships simultaneously. Try to load only one.

By the way, you can revert FTL to vanilla by using GMM's patch button without any mods selected.

Well, even if all that KartoFlane said has sense, not for having 12 modded ships that will cause a crash. And not for having a mod with a lot of stuff could cause a crash (i talk by experience xD).

Ganerally, crashes are produced by a single line of code, a missing character, a clausule in the bad position, etc. in the case of events, this gets really complicated, since all the events need to have the proper structure and if they dont, that will cause, crashes, events not working, events working at 50%, etc, etc

Other crashes are produced by some weird game behaviours, for example, u need to leave always augmentations free to appear in events and shops, u cant make all the augmentations hidden (rarity = 0) because that will cause a crash (maybe the game tries to find an augmetnation for an event, and since they are disabled, the game crashes). This seems a stupid premise, but trust me i experienced it and i wasted about 4 entire days trying to figure it out.

And as u can see, crashes comes due to the most weird things, but if a mod is perfectly built, it doesnt matter how complex it is, that should not be a problem. My 2 mods are really complex (more than any mod of the community i will guess, since they have more graphics, sounds, code, and finally im introducing events as well...) and for now i didnt have any crash due to that complexity.

Since the problem will be for sure on the code (cashes are not produced by bad graphics , sounds or something similar) , i recommend that you make comments any part of code u think is causing any problem and try it again.

Now, solving a crash requires that u examine the code , there is nothing u can do if u dont do that.

I have completely patched and removed the game, it runs fine un-modded, but as soon as you bring Infinite Space in to the occasion, the game crashes as soon as you click start, which is odd, i have patched, new recourse.dat, data.dat, recourse.dat.backup and data.dat.backup. Im guessing it is the mod, it just isn't compatible with FTL v. 1.03.3. Thank you for your help, its just that i don't really understand how FTL mods work, so all i do is install them and hope for the best, which normally works. its just this new update sort of screwed it up. Oh well, ill wait until it's ready.

Thanks again!

Also i did know that, but the game would continue to crash, Im guessing its just FTL being buggy.

I also learnt that the hard way but it solved it's self with an unpatch.
