Boss phase 3 boarding drone disappears

During boss phase 3 fight boarding drone was moving from one boss compartment to another then boss invoked power surge ability but then zoltan shield appear my boarding drone was gone. No enemy crew was present at the time (except lone survivor in sealed gun compartment) and my ship was not firing on boss so its impossible to say why drone just disappeared :/
