i have played FTL for about 40 hours and now when i load up FTL, the loading screen gets all the way to the end then it freezes, all the sounds come on after it freezes the game though, but it wont move forward, i have uninstalled and reinstalled the game and that didn't help, any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this

- Did you install mods at some point?
- Have you installed the latest FTL version?
- What operating system do you use (Windows, Mac, Linux)?
- 32-bits or 64-bits operating system?
- What graphics card do you use?
- Are the drivers up-to-date?

i have never installed any mods ever. i have the latest version of FTL. windows. 32 bits. i dont know. yes

Moved from the Discussion sub-forum to the Technical Support and Bugs sub-forum, so the the devs have a better chance of seeing it.

Failing to load is usually a sign that the profile file has become corrupted somehow. You can check this by going to the profile location (described here: http://www.ftlgame.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1892) and moving the file out of that folder to see if the game loads. If that is the problem, then you will have lost all of your game data since the profile file is unusable now

i have done what you have said and it still doesn't work so yeah

Are you using Steam? You'll have to disable the Steam Cloud Sync as well. To do that, right click on FTL and go to Properties then the "Updates" tab and and uncheck the box for Cloud Sync.
