So I just purchased this game and at the same time my video card died (yay!)

Well I grabbed and older video card out of another computer and threw it in my gaming rig.

It is an ATI x1600. It's crap but I can't really afford to replace my card just yet.

Anyways the problem I'm having is that the game has a really low frame rate and the mouse cursor moves really slow and jumpy.

I think the problem is that I am using Windows 7 and that ATI no longer supports Windows 7 with this cards driver. Maybe...I dunno.

Anyways I have tried using the default wddm driver that Windows installed and I have tried using the two legacy drivers that ATI supplies. Neither worked. I have tried Vsync both within the game and in the driver.

The game is unplayable with this hardware.

I know there was a fix for the x1600 on Macs but does anyone have any idea on what I can do in Windows 7?

If not I will just have to wait until I replace my video card.

Finding the correct / most up to date drivers will generally fix the problem. The low framerate is caused by poor OpenGL support, which is (extremely frustratingly) quite common for ATI legacy cards. You can shoot me an email with your dxdiag and I'll see if I can find any better choice for drivers, my address is zasdarq@ftlgame.com. But it sounds like you've exhausted the options already.

I thought that was the case, but wasn't sure if there was something I was missing.

Oh, and thank you for offering but no refund necessary. I'm confident that I'll get my moneys worth out of your work soon enough. Besides can't play any other games right now and I dont see EA offering me Amy refunds lol!

I won't bother you with trying to get things working with this card it will be gone soon enough.
