FTL Crash, Runtime

I installed a couple of mods one day, and my FTL just started getting all messed up! After I installed them, it said the application wanted runtime to quit in an unusual way or something. I uninstalled and then reinstalled, but the same thing happened. I have version 1.03.1 by the way. I also reinstalled runtime, didn't help!

So that the developers understand better what could be happening, can you answer the following questions?

- Where did you buy the game from? (official web site, GoG, Steam)
- What operating system do you use? (Windows, Linux, Mac)
- Are you playing on a laptop or a desktop?
- What graphics card do you have?
- After you installed mods, did you upgrade the game?

I got it from the official website, I'm using Windows, I'm on a laptop, and the version of the game I've been using to run mods is the same as the one I downloaded in the beginning. How do I find out what graphics card I'm running?

Click on the Start button then type: devmgmt.msc in the search box. The search will find the program, all you have to do is click on it.

Look under Display Adapters.

Mods alter the game files, and using multiple mods is known to cause crashes. You can test mods one by one to see which ones work. When you know a mod is causing a problem, contact the author of the mod to help you out. You can post in the Mods section of the forum if the mod is here.

Deleting all mods and uninstalling/reinstalling the game should fix all errors, but installing mods again can break it once more. If the game cannot work at all even without mods, the you can try deleting your profile as well as all mods and the game. The profile is kept in /MyDocument/MyGames/Faster Than Light. Delete that folder as a last resort because all your progress, achievements and unlocks will be lost.

My graphics card is an AMD Radeon HD 6320 Graphics, is that compatible. I also removed my save, but the error still kept happening! The official text is: "this application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."

I have managed to break FTL with mods too. But i used a separate copy of the game (just copy paste to a new dir, and create new shortcut for modded game) to avoid destroying FTL. No matter how badly the modded version was screwed up (either various crashes and errors or wrong fonts, mising images, ship specific crashes) the original game ALLWAYS worked with no problem.

Your problems began with mods, and you will not get the game to work again untill you get rid of every trace of modded files. I would suggest not going near a mod, and removing GMM completely until you get normal FTL running again.
