[Semi-Fixed] Windows 7 - Game appears zoomed in, unplayable

I was encountering a problem that was making FTL unplayable on Windows 7 and I couldn't find another post on here that detailed what I found, so I thought I'd post this in case anyone else runs into the same trouble.
My Setup: A PC connected to my TV via HDMI running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and OpenSUSE Linux 12.2.
The Problem: The game runs perfectly on Linux, but in Windows, the game window is too big for the screen, even though the resolution is 1920x1080. Setting the game to "fullscreen native" correctly adjusts the TV's resolution to 1280x720, but the graphics appear "zoomed in" and the game is unplayable.
The Cause: Because I have this computer connected to a TV, I had, in the Control Panel, under Appearance and Personalization, I had set "Make it easier to read what's on your screen" to 150% so that all of the UI elements were larger. For some reason, this also makes FTL 50% bigger.
The Fix: Turn "Make it easier to read what's on your screen" back to 100% while you play the game. Unfortunately, this is less than ideal because with it set to 100%, UI elements are hard to see and adjusting this requires a log-off and back on. I would like to see the devs address this in the next update.
