Something I installed killed FTL

Hello, FTL worked pretty fine under Ubuntu 12.04. Yesterday I tried a lot of things to see what would fit my project best, and FTL now hangs on initialization: its window opens, stays black forever and does not respond to anything short of killall.
Could you please give a list of its dependancies, and/or tell me which of Mono, kivy, and wxwindows might have bungled it?
