Not sure about connection, but game crush bug is chat related afaik.
And it sould be fixed in the a0.4.3 version.
So as soon as jrb updates the server to a0.4.3 - we will see if the crash bug is fixed.

Small update:

1. afaik jrb updated the server to a0.4.3
2. The crash bug was still there >:C
3. But I have finally caught it with debug and found the exact place where it was occuring.
4. I've reuploaded the a0.4.3 version with the last bug fix.
5. So if you are still encounterring the crash bug - just redowload the game.
6. I've changed the alpha download link, so don't be surprised.
It's easyer to upload to only 1 place(itch.io)
7. Plase report any new bugs you encounter.
8. I'm going to work on reordering the TODO list, to start working on a0.5
