Kilispikik fell backwards, the wind knocked from her lungs. The force of the blow was quite powerful, directly to her Nakus Plexus between the left and right Vidasan. (Mantis biology, anyone? )

I had forgotten the force of the Rockmen. They shake their combatants like thunder, but thunder is not quick to move, She thought, thinking back to Anti-Rockmen combat training. All attacks can be countered by the wiser of warriors.

She flipped up on her back two legs, spinning wildly, low to the floor. She originally planned to swipe the creatures legs from beneath him, but then she thought that they would not budge. So, upon reaching the Rockman in her whirlwind state, she jumped upwards, causing multiple sizable scratches all the way up it's front, from her rapid rotation with claws extended. The Rockman staggered back in pain, looking down at the fresh slash marks from legs to forehead.

She landed gracefully on a shipping crate above, all 4 legs on the ground. She didn't even trip from stopping her spin so abruptly.

"Impressive, you are a powerful warrior, it is a shame it is too the death" Ruwen said pulling himself together

"However" he held up his left hand, "You never faced the demon that was the metal eater" and from his *palm* fired multiple crystal shards aiming to pierce her chiten armor

The crystal shards were somewhat slow, Kilispikik dodged the first but was struck by the second, severing her top-left arm. However, her three other arms were perfectly operational.

Kilispikik ran up to the crystal, flipped over him, and spun around to face his back. With one arm she grabbed a crevice in the Rockmans' left side, and another in his right, and pulled diagonally. She tore a chunk of the Rockman off, and darted away, carrying the crystalline chunk with her!

As Kilispikik scurried away, she threw the hard crystal she had torn off at the now weakened Rockman, striking him in one leg. This caused cracks to develop throughout the leg, and when he put weight on it, the leg shattered into a million pieces!

Now, the Rockman had a gaping hole in its side from where she had torn off a chunk, and a missing leg! Not to mention the numerous scratches from the prior attack. "It is you who does not know the power of a worthy Mantis warrior," Kilispikik said, glaring at him.

He growled and touched his side panting a bit, 'I refuse to die for my captain..." he said and he fired multiple barrages at her, planning to get her close, when she did he would use his right hand to fire one right at her head, she won't be able to dodge one that close...however the risk was great, if he missed that one shot that powerful claw could shatter his head and core....

Lux returned to the pelican to report the bad news to Eden, only to find that the Captain of the hauler was not at the helm. She wondered what the pirate could be up to before sitting back at her station on Sensors and watching the fight via camera drone. The announcer was making loud commentary about how the "Rockman" was running out of time while the Mantis (of course) was doing fine despite the "serious injuries" (The commentating Mantis was doing "air claws")

HE fired, enacting the plan, "this is how we fight, releasing crystals to attack opponents from far, can you blame me for wishing to now allow you to attack with those claws" he said watching her dancing around getting closer and closer...and when she got closer he aimed his other arm at his side and fired aimmed her for head....

There was the sound of anger from the other mantis watching but their leader the one they talked to stood up

"Killispikik was a powerful warrior and would have certainlly become a leader of her own ship. But she lost honorably to a powerful warrior, we will honor our deal and allow you to leave without worry." he said, "someone get them the spacergris they wanted, and no attacking them, they earned it. Anyone who thinks they want to dishour Killispikik by attacking them now can take it up with me" he said with a growling tone

Lux cheered at the screen as Ruwen had won the fight. I was worried... I didn't know Mantises had claws that strong... she thought to herself.
Suddenly Eden had returned to the Pelican, pulling a hover-pallet behind herself. "Hey you know our friend Charlie? Turns out he went really far ahead of us after the Rebels destroyed that station... he sent us some care packages though for our journey."
"That sounds thoughtful" Lux remarked.
"We're also taking a few cargo containers of toxic materials" Eden continued "I didn't ask too many questions though. They seem secure enough."
"Who's going to buy all those materials anyway?" Lux asked, curiously.
"I know a few groups... let's just say if we sell it to them, they'll be sure to put it to good use in... hindering the Rebellion" Eden explained, taking the Pelican out of docking.

Lux then went over to the Scarab once the Spacergris had been delivered. She took one of the vials and like someone who had no idea how to process a restorative agent, opened it up and poured it over Bren's wound. Miraculously, it seemed to have a rather quickened effect, more powerful than the nanites used before.

Gorlag had helped Ruwen get inside, "You gonna be ok big guy?" he asked, "I will be fine, give be a day or two and my wounds will regenerate themselves, we are a very hardy species..." he said, not mentioning that the regeneration process would take years off his life

Over with Bren he began to open his eyes

"Where...am I...Lux?" he asked, "Ugh my body hurts so much right now..."

"You're alive" Lux said cheerily "That's the most important part. You're also on the same ship you got yourself hurt on."
She handed Bren the container of Spacergris. The traces of the mysterious green substance were still glowing "We got a few of these vials; turns out they have a greater effect on Zoltan physiology than nanomachines..."
Maybe the Zoltan and Space Whales have similar properties? she thought to herself.
She looked to Ruwen who had quickly dismissed his injuries as something easily repaired "That man fought a Mantis for that Spacergris"

"Guys, we're jumping now," Jake said over the comms. "I don't want to have a sore loser issue" He eyed the station. They jumped to the next beacon, where told all neccisary parties that the treatment for Bren should begin. Once it was under way, Jake took some scans.

Is everyone ready for the nebula to be over? If not, I will revise this post.

"This is the exit beacon," Sarah reported. "Nothing much here, except for a few very thin traces of gas. It's mostly a clear beacon,"

"What's the next sector?" Jake asked

"Abandoned 01"

"There are more than one abandoned sectors?" Jake asked, his voice sounding astonished. But internally, he somewhat expected that.

"Yeah. The Rebels are conducting minimal research and testing in Abandoned 01, but their most major research occurs in Abandoned 03, and beyond."

"What about 02?"

"For some reason, the Rebels pulled everything out of 02, deeming it 'Lost Cause, too dangerous.'"

"That's not good. Can we avoid 02?"

"The only alternative is to go through a complexly Rebel controlled sector, where we'd be ripped to shreds."

"Well, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it."

"So for now it's Abandoned 01, an Abandoned sector with some Rebel activity," Sarah clarified.

"Here goes nothing," Jake said, pressing the jump button.
