I mean, sure, I guess. Unless you wanted to be, yeah I can play the Mantis fighter!stylesrj wrote:Play as the Mantis fighter? I just wanted to introduce the sort of Mantis Ruwen would be fighting.
Because why NOT have a Mantis who can actually cut rocks fighting a Rock?
Although a stack of bricks doesn't move so it's not going to be 100% effective.
Ruwen walked off the Scarab after they landed into the hangerstylesrj wrote:Kilispikik had a lot to prove in the upcoming fight.
The other Mantis hives didn't think she had what it took to become a warrior but circumstances back home led to her having to have to try.
Turns out that in her travels, she was getting quite good at the whole killing business and having signed up to work on the merchant vessel, she figured she could rack up a few more kills before her hive would grant her the honour of flying a ship of her own and leading a clutch of warriors into glorious combat.
"Some meatsacks have thought they could challenge us" she was informed as she headed for the hangar. "You said you wanted to prove yourself, now's your chance to uphold your hive's honour."
"Very good. Have you picked a challenger from their pathetic ships?" Kilispikik asked, rubbing her claws together, sharpening them for the fight.
"They claim to have some sort of Rockman made of crystals. Is that a problem?"
Kilispikik slammed a claw into a conveniently-provided stack of bricks, cutting through a few of them. "Those meatsacks think that our claws are not sharp enough to cut stones... that Rockman will be nothing more than a Pebbleman when I'm done."
Dun dun dun!

Soon, the Merchants had a live video feed set up, from numerous cameras in hanger bay. Some of these cameras were fixed to boxes and crates strewn throughout the cargo hold. Others were flown by autonomous drones that tracked the action as it unfolded.
Soon, Kilispikik was standing at one end of the cargo bay, and a shiny Rockman stood at the other. They were both unarmed, as the rules dictated. Soon, an alarm sounded. The go bell. Kilispikik leapt into action, jumping from crate to crate, maintaining the high ground. She let out a high pitched battle cry, leaping directly on top of the creature before it had even begun to react.
"Impressive, you are a powerful warrior, it is a shame it is too the death" Ruwen said pulling himself togetherEyesight Technology wrote:Kilispikik fell backwards, the wind knocked from her lungs. The force of the blow was quite powerful, directly to her Nakus Plexus between the left and right Vidasan. (Mantis biology, anyone?)
I had forgotten the force of the Rockmen. They shake their combatants like thunder, but thunder is not quick to move, She thought, thinking back to Anti-Rockmen combat training. All attacks can be countered by the wiser of warriors.
She flipped up on her back two legs, spinning wildly, low to the floor. She originally planned to swipe the creatures legs from beneath him, but then she thought that they would not budge. So, upon reaching the Rockman in her whirlwind state, she jumped upwards, causing multiple sizable scratches all the way up it's front, from her rapid rotation with claws extended. The Rockman staggered back in pain, looking down at the fresh slash marks from legs to forehead.
She landed gracefully on a shipping crate above, all 4 legs on the ground. She didn't even trip from stopping her spin so abruptly.
The crystal shards were somewhat slow, Kilispikik dodged the first but was struck by the second, severing her top-left arm. However, her three other arms were perfectly operational.BrenTenkage wrote:"Impressive, you are a powerful warrior, it is a shame it is too the death" Ruwen said pulling himself togetherEyesight Technology wrote:Kilispikik fell backwards, the wind knocked from her lungs. "However" he held up his left hand, "You never faced the demon that was the metal eater" and from his *palm* fired multiple crystal shards aiming to pierce her chiten armor
