Positive I installed it correctly, but every single time I try to make ONE edit to a mod ship (USS Defiant), it immediately crashes. I can never seem to get these things right :/ but Java is up to date, got the swt as stated, got the correct Superluminal, because the x64 version wouldn't start but the x32 did. So...*shrugs*

Which version of the editor are you using? I'm checking the crash report against current code, but it just doesn't add up (CursorBox:303 is a blank line in current code, it simply can't cause a crash)

Updating to the most recent version will probably fix the crash :F

Sorry man, I'm using the latest version that you have uploaded. At first I downloaded the very top one on the list and realized it was for Linux and I just facepalmed so hard. After getting the Windows x32, I was like 'YAY'...and then it just wouldn't let me create a ship without crashing or edit a existing ship (adding doors, etc.) I can edit the weapons themselves from Statistics or w/e its called, as well as how much power a ship can have... (Slammed like 70 power into the Defiant only to realize that was TOO MUCH xD.) but any editing to the ship itself, like adding a airlock to a certain spot I think would be helpful :P, would just crash in a instant.

Don't know what else to tell you. I'm using the updated version, followed all the instructions, and yet it crashes like in a instant I do anything but edit the ship properties.

I have a history of mods hating my guts, no joke :/ I would follow like every instruction to the letter of a number of mods to a number of games, and they just would fail miserably, and its been on multiple different machines too. I just got this laptop months ago, thank god too because its soooooo much better than what I been dealing with (VIIIISTAAAAA D:<) but still, Mods seem to just hate me.

Gah, of course I had forget to update the github repo...

Found the problem. Pretty simple oversight. No idea why I didn't catch it earlier, though... :?

Updated the 13-11-12 release.

All right, I had to completely delete the one I had because for some reason, even when I unpacked the latest updated one and hit 'Yes All', it didn't seem to solve it, so I just deleted the whole thing, redownloaded, unpacked and it works perfectly! Thanks a lot man!

Ha, found another crash report for you :P. I tried expanding a Weapons Room on a ship (was trying to figure out HOW in the HECK do you add more system slots to the Weapons on the Federation Cruiser...was totally failing but anyways) I added a room in the wrong spot...and for some reason, I felt compelled to 'Delete Room Image' or whatever it was. After doing is, WAM, crash. Lol. Maybe I should try more silly stuff just to find more Crash's for you, so you could put in something that says 'ERROR: Can NOT DELETE ROOM IMAGE YOU MORON!' lol kidding.

Edit: Oh it was a blank room, so it didn't have a image but it still had the option to delete image...which is why it crashed.

Got it fixed, the "remove interior" button now gets disabled if the room has no interior image.
Cheers man, that edited-in bit saved me a world of headache :)

Updated the most recent release again.

Be my guest, I'm just happy to get this ol' piece of garbage code fixed

Click on the Properties button, go to Weapons tab, what you're looking for is the "weapon slots" spinner. Though the editor prevents it from going over 4 (since it messes up FTL's UI).

Then you have to place additional weapon mounts around the ship, to match the number of weapon slots (and a surplus weapon mount if your ship has the artillery system)

Hi, I'm having the same problem Vhati was having... Yeah I have downloaded java, I have GMM installed and have tried 32 bit and 64 bit for mac, neither of which are working- both give me this error message

Code: Select all

Exception in thread "Thread-1" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: com/kartoflane/superluminal/core/Main : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0

Yeah, it's incredibly frustrating, if you can keep the explanation simple that'd be great as im not a computer wiz :p
Cheers

Your Mac is using an older version of Java by default. For solution, look here.

Thanks for the reply, however that is not working the .jre file doesn't exist, and there is only a folder with the name (without the .jre). On top of that there is no Java folder in my library which is slightly worrying. Any other suggestions?
Because my mac is running an older version however it is being very stubborn :p In terminal it says this- java version "1.6.0_51"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_51-b11-457-11M4509)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.51-b01-457, mixed mode)
It just wont let me upgrade- any help?
