Progress in developing nuclear-Zoltan weaponry is good. Weaponry works well for ship to ship combat, as well as groun bombardment. Launcher has targeting flaws, and Engi have problems overcoming effectiveness of nuclear-Zoltan weaponry in space. Further research is being conducted at [CLASSIFIED LOCATION(s)]. in order to maintain secrecy, stations are scattered in various places and facade stations have been built. in due time, weaponry will be fully operational.

Nukes? Two words: Energy Projectors.

Taunt Acknowledged. Pursuing with new Engi weapon NOVA missiles battery. Launches massive salvo of NOVA missiles, which consist of 10 50 petaton nuclear warheads fused into a single casing. Upon detonation releases EMP that disables ships. NOVA missiles are equipped with special tracking and have scaled down version of FTL drive, allowing for tracking of enemy ships even if they jump.

no you just made a big mistake NOVAs do double hull damage when thy come out of slipspace

Engi have developed new weapon to deal with half Engi, called Potato On A Stick(POAS).
