Man, this is such a great mod and when you ad the Infinite add one And all the extra stuff, It feels like an FTL 2.0 almost.
Its a great mod but there is a problem that bothers me a little.
When i load BPaB 1.2.1. (The preferred version for CE) It crashes the game. And i have the BPaB Patch for the Game to.

So Anything i can do to fix this problem? Because it would really enhance the game play with BPaB.
Thanks. :)

OK so I know I'm late joining the party, but I'm having trouble getting this to work properly and didn't know where else to ask. (Not even sure anyone will see this!)

Know it doesn't particularly matter, but just to clarify, although I've not had any real programming experience (other than school) or have ever made any mods, I've used several mods for different games in the past, so am familiar with some variables the user has to make sure are correct for any mod to work (load order, testing as few mods as possible at one time to see if they work, avoid mod clashes, etc). I've followed all the instructions for installing slipstream and CE, but am encountering problems. I'm fairly certain I've installed both slipstream and the mods correctly, so I'm stumped now.

For reference, I've only been using CE and it's respective resource patch. I'm running a Windows 7 laptop with 2x2.10 ghz processor, 8gb RAM with on-board intel graphics (doubt any of that's a problem, but just in case)

The problem is: the game randomly freezes when running CE.
To clarify what I mean by "freeze": the program doesn't close or give any error messages. The music continues, but all visuals, including the cursor, stop completely. Also, whatever sound had been playing at the point of freeze will either finish playing if a one-off (e.g., a missile firing, a hull breach), or will endlessly loop (if its a ship repair sound, a rail laser, or other sound that's meant to repeat for a set time).

I wish I could be more precise, but the freezes really do seem to happen randomly. I've never gotten past around the 3rd or 4th (I think) system on CE because of them, and the last time I "played", it froze at the hanger (ship creation) screen. If I had to be *try* to be more specific, then they probably happen more often after 2 or 3 sectors normally.
They've happened just before a jump, just after a jump, in the middle of combat, in an empty sector whilst carrying out repairs... seemingy random. I'm forced to <ctrl-alt-del> force close the game. If I then try to "continue" where it froze, then it just freezes straight away again, so I'm always forced to restart knowing that sooner or later my ship's going to meet a time-colapse vortex doom. I've actually started calling her the UNSC Bandicoot due to it's inescapable crash doom.

I can't find anyone/anywhere else detailing this problem through google searches and some forum searches (although to be fair, I didn't traipse through *this* entire thread, seeing how long it is, so apologies if this has indeed already been addressed.)
I've tried patching to vanilla and repatching. Tried re-downloading and installing the mods + slipstream. Tried uninstalling + reinstalling FTL. Tried deleting the "resource" folder for FTL, then verifying game cache with Steam. I think I've tried other things too, but I'm going a bit crazy now so can't quite remember!

I've spent ages trying to get this working without help (generally don't like asking) - and actually haven't ever asked on forums for help of any kind before so please don't go assuming I'm one of those "ask first, think later" type posters - I'm really trying here :/

If it ends up being a total unsolvable mystery, I can bring my old retired linux laptop out and might be able to play CE on that, so nobody go toooo far out of their way for me! :p

Also, just would like to say - as frustrating/off-putting as the freezes are, the limited experience I've had playing CE has been awesome - many gratz to the developers!

Seems like someone had a similar problem here (searched for 'freeze' in the thread, continued for a couple posts on the next page):
http://www.ftlgame.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 030#p91319

If your RAM usage is similar, it could be a good idea to look into the Large Address Aware thing mentioned somewhere in the troubleshooting for the Endless Loot mod. However much memory you have, FTL can still cause trouble on some computers since it can't use all of it. The actual usage varies wildly between systems.

FTL also has some logs when crashing in stdout/err files in the main directory and I think in one of the folders there, too.

Hello, i've tried playing CE and it's fun. However, i can't seem to find any player's artillery in the stores or any AI sectors or any AI ships other than basic turret. Are things like that supposed to be extra rare or something? How can i check if they're even installed?

How may runs have you played? Artillery is just as rare as other systems, so there might be runs where it doesn't show up at all.

CE's AI faction is pretty different from auto ships, their sector is pretty rare and can only be spawned after sector 3 I think. You won't see their ships anywhere else.

Other than that the mod isn't modular, so the stuff should be there. You can always try redownloading and reinstalling the latest version if you want to be sure.

For some reason letters randomly vanish, i don't know why it happens and it is really bothering me. I've verified the files at least twice and this doesn't happen with vanilla.

http://imgur.com/a/sEVND for my mod order and an example of the problem.

I hope this can be something that is on my end and I really want this to be solved. Thanks.

Have you also re-downloaded CE and all the other ones you're running? Some font files or something could have gotten corrupted.

I put it first and it used to work fine for me
Anyway i have a bit of an issue after updating to the latest CE versions (of practically everything because i use it all and it's been ages) i have a weird issue where the smm fails to patch the CE resource pack with following error in the log (selecting it in the window gives a similar error). Also i would've put this in spoilers if i knew how. Any help as to why this is happening would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Looks like corrupted download of the resource pack, try again. Maybe interrupted, or something, it can take a while as it is not that small. And:

Code: Select all

or something.

@Minerrockss
Better Asteroids are just graphical, it should be fine. I doesn't look like CE even does anything with the originals aside from changing backgrounds.
