Back to the DRM poses no security threat (of course it does):
"" It then proceeded to minimize the game, and launch Internet Explorer, which is not my default browser. As an added bit of insult, it launcher Internet Explorer as a daughter process to services.exe - with administrative privileges - outside of my Sandbox security settings. ""

i won't buy anything with DRM anymore. Nor will i use steam which can change their terms with no warning and no recourse. i wear no tin foil hat, i simply understand the consequences of their EULA and Terms of Service. No sale. Never.

I must have missed this. who said that? Maze has been ranting the last few pages that it does indeed pose a security risk and about a relevance of a quote. I don't see anyone arguing with you on this point.

^ No need to point out the poster, but here is what was said in this thread "DRM has nothing to do with a consumers safety."
Beyond that.. there is still a large chunk of gamer society who actually believes it. Head in the sand fanboys and all that. For years i been seeing strawmen and trolling to defend steams method. But the big fight came for me on CivFanatics with Civ5. Civ1 was the first modern'ish PC game i got involved in (prior was old Apple IIe stuff in highschool). Civ3 was my first purchased game. i'd bought all the expansions for 3 & 4. i had a couple other games by that point, but it was Civ that i kept playing. i still play mods from both those games. In the middle of a Civ3 mod right now actually (but FTL trumped that big time!). That's the backstory.
So then Civ5 comes but is only steam. So i researched it. Didn't like it. But love Civ. So researched some more. But i reject what steam is and my love for Civ was not even enough. That got me involved in flame wars and a little tiny bit of actual debate. But steams terms and EULA simply suck. So then i moved to stardocks mess named elemental: war of magic. But Stardork sold impulse thereby selling out all its digital distribution customers to gamestoppers of all ****s. So i was done with PC gaming till i learned of GOG.com. No DRM. And all the rest. i despise the business method of those who use DRM. They're dinosaurs. Not just for me but for a growing number of consumers fed up with pwnership. In general the consuming public rapidly tires of bullpucky, Anyhow, DRM is detrimental to industries. But gamers are sluts. This won't last. Change it comes.

I thought you had already responded to that and he accepted your premise?
His point was that DRMs was NOT more secure, when you said it was even worse he went along with that because it didn't refute his point.
