With its mental scanners ARKON quickly noticed that Marsha was probably new to the shields room.
"Marsha, I recommend activating the omnidirectional shields. It's a yellow button just below the manual control takeover lever to your left."

"Ion Blast... Dual lasers... What the hell kind of weapons are these they give us to deal with the Federation?" He muttered under his breath as his appendages kept the lock-on and fired the ion blast, watching the slow moving energy projectile go along. Just when it was within spitting distance of the shield, he fired the Dual lasers, targeting the... Weapons.
Of course, it wasn't Skro's style to go after the weapons. No, he preferred taking out the oxygen of an enemy ship, and sending over a cleanup crew afterwards.
But something about the ship seemed off, so he decided to err on the side of caution. They didn't have a teleporter, after all.
However, seeing the front part of the view suddenly lose its blue tint made him confused. They hadn't gotten hit, the enemy hadn't fired a shot. Why had the shield gone down? Ultimately he blamed it on a short circuit, and made sure to be ready to dodge any incoming shots.

Marsha said very hurriedly over the comms "Sorry, I guess the shield modulators haven't been fully installed." She mentally cursed herself for attempting to lie to a Slug... and then for just thinking about attempting to lie to a Slug, followed by...
What's that... one more and I'd be in Limbo? she thought to herself as she hit the button for the omni-directional shields. For some reason she felt something was off about the Federation scout. "Captain, shouldn't that ship have fired a missile or something by now?" he asked hesitantly over the comms.

"Incoming Leto missle! Skro, perform evasive maneuvers!"

I could post more often
But yeah, I'm still in this, provided there's some activity. Perhaps we should make our own? Proceed ahead without waiting for the GM?

Sure, go ahead. You can make up some events as you go, though we still need to go to the merchant's store to pick up Tycho X's character.

Seeing the missile flying towards them, Marsha cursed herself for bringing bad luck to her own survival on the ship. Most missiles were designed to bypass shields through the use of some sort of shield bypassing technology Marsha had no clue about.
But as the projectile interacted with the shield bubble, nothing appeared to have happened on the screen. She wondered what just happened and whether or not they had dodged the rocket. Then it slowly dawned upon her "It's a drill! This entire thing has been a drill!" she muttered to herself "And I did very poorly."

Seeing as Marsha has found out it's a drill, ARKON turned off the hologram, and addressed the crew "Well done. You all did very well, though I found some ways to improve on our effectiveness. Skro, great micromanagement, no problems there. Daniel, also very impressed. The last engine specialist I had tried to eat the control monitor, so definitely an improvement. Marsha, perhaps you can use your programming skills to use. Maybe develop a program that automatically keeps the shields up. You can have time to work on that during the journey to the merchant. Also, getting a hacking module could be interesting, since your programming skills would really come through." ARKON paused, wondering what to say next. "So, have some rest. I'll pilot the ship to the merchant store." And with that, ARKON silently slipped into sleep mode.

Name: Kervasken
Age:14
Gender: Male
Species/Race: Mantis
Physical appearance:
Mantis look oddly similar, so there's not too muck to describe, but I'll do my best.
Pretty moderately sized for his age, with wide jaws. Eyes pearl black, skin a dark shade of green.
(If there's any more I can describe, let me know!)
Personality: Oddly aggressive yet quirky, likes to watch other be at his control- "I push this button and-Kablooie! Free fireworks on a dark night, nothing not to like."-kind of thing. LOVES being at the helm of someone else's failure and/or death. Doesn't mind a new ship or two, however they might be "earned".
Skills: Some SERIOUS hacking ability. Not god-like, but he can do some good damage through the computer. Not a great fighter, but is also good with drones.
Programing is also in his range.
