looks good. Looking through all this again.
I must say though- the repeating laser is a bit... repeats very fast? Captains edition has a similar weapon called the auto laser and no I am not comparing to CE- but it's just the weapon concept idea, there one goes about 4 seconds for 3 power. this is because it's a suppression weapon made to keep the shields down which does it nearly flawlessly with max crew level and/or automated reloader.
I suggest possibly looking into the details on the balance for that thing but the art does look cool and unique!
Anyway, interesting thread, the array of weapons here are cool and inspiring.

By repeating laser, you mean the fast recharge laser? It is currently is a one shot every 4 seconds for two power. I was thinking about once I get into event modding, making a rarity 0 quest reward.

While I'm a ways off from ship modding, I have an idea in mind. I'll make a ring runner ship in FTL! The particular ship I have in mind is my favorite fighter class:
The F5 Mercury
Here's rough mock up I threw together in superliminal:
Hp:30
Crew: 1 Human, 1 Engi
Weapon slots: only 2!
Weapons, Light Repeating Photocaster Mark II, Longbow Missiles
Can only have 3 shields like the decent into darkness ship.
Starting augments: Shield Charge booster, FTL Recharge Booster.
Artillery Weapon: The Titan beam, which will do 2 damage per room, has hullbust and one system damage, slight beach chance, No shield piercing.
Starting Systems:
Reactor: 11 power
Engines: lvl 4
Weapons: lvl 3
Piloting: lvl 2
Shields: lvl 2
Artillery: lvl 1
Medbay: lvl 1
O2: lvl 1
Doors: lvl 1
Sensors: lvl 1
Pros:
+Big starting reactor
+High starting engines
+Fast shields
+Upgraded piloting
+Well ventilated
Cons:
-Small starting crew
--Lower shield capacity
--Only two weapon slots

Added the .50 patch and you guys think I should star working on that ship, sure it's a bigger effort at hand, but I have the image clearly in my mind. Also a ship sprite making tutorials I could take a look at?
