Holy crap indeed! Major kudos for pulling that off.

So I go to the Sector 6 exit beacon, and - WUT?!?!

I see your BL II and raise you by a Flak II. On the Fregatidae. That already had a Flak I installed. Which I later swapped for another Flak II.

Flagship vs. Flakship: no contest.

Wrong. Burst Laser II is superior to Flak II. In fact, Flak I is superior to Flak II. 3 shots every 10 seconds. Combine it with a BL.II, you've got 6 shots every 12 seconds. Your puny Flak II only provides 7 shots every 22 seconds.

Also, much more accurate and less power needed for awesome destruction.

Finding a Burst Laser II is a Holy Crap moment.

No wonder the Rebellion managed to defeat the Federation if that's the attitude of the starship Captains.

Or is it the other way around?

"We can't spare that, because every other ship wants one as well. Here, take this Flak II!"
"Fine, but I'm selling it immediately!"

Then the Rebels win because no one can buy the guns they want in stores
A real Holy Crap moment eh?

Well..
I've had this game for about 2 days, with only the engi ship unlocked, then this happened:

I was cruising around in my Engi cruiser type A, when I suddenly received the Stealth Cruiser! Being a bit overly excited to get a new ship, I kept trying to blow up my Engi so I could go test it out. The Engi never blew up. So on I trudged through sector 5 and 6, trying to get destroyed to no avail. Sector 7 was a rebel stronghold, and I found that 2nd rebel flagship. Great, I thought. I could blow myself up here. And of course my drone had to blow up the 2nd flagship too because I didn't turn off my ion weapon's auto fire. And then I received the Federation Cruiser. And the Lanius Cruiser.

I also happened to have a crystal crew member, which promptly died. I didn't realise it could get me a ship at that time..

Anyway I got 3 ships in one run. Yay.
