Hadn't seen a normal run on The Vortex, so here you go:
Anybody feels like completing it with it too? Was lots of fun with Ion+ 2 heavy lasers, and what with level 3 shields and cloak AND a lv1 def drone AND a lv2 def drone AND the drone retrieval.
That run showed me how effective the scrap recovery arm can be too.
I don't have any of those fancy ships as I want to discover them myself but can't probably figure the tricks so I only have basic, engi and federation + those layout B's as they are easy to make if I know what to do xD
so with those 3 ships I have these (click for full stats)

No cheesy farming or anything here.
I have yet to win the game on Normal, but I managed 4580 on Easy with Crystal B.
Setup was:
- All systems and subsystems maxed (except for Drones, which I didn't buy). I still had around 400 scrap to spare.
- A full crew (2 Crystal, 2 Mantis, 1 Engi, 1 Zoltan, 2 Humans)
- Burst Laser 2, Hull Smashing Laser 2, Hull Smashing Laser 2, Hermes Missile
Topped my high score again today. I did a playthrough with the crystal cruiser and hit 5568.

5443: The Krestel - Boarding, and some nice weapons, mostly I just killed the crew. And I killed the boss too!

I was wondering how can you guys have such a low score and still win the game...
quite funny that my highest score is the non-win run as I didnt know how many times i can jump before the final boss can reach the base and then sudenly was game over >.>
