4615 scrap in Sector 1? You've been there for so long that maybe the game doesn't want to generate a new sector anymore. It would be interesting to know if you really did hit a limit on how many sectors the game will allow. Perhaps "infinite" is actually impossible.

I have no clue (from a programming perspective) what I'm talking about.

Yeah... I kept grinding for several hours, and I'm pretty sure I once got 2k Scrap too and spent a lot of it on upgrades. I highly doubt that it's because so many sectors have been created, though. I mean, if someone played as long (or longer) than I have for one run, they're probably get this crash as well, and let's face it, with the upgrades' prices, you'll need to grind for the Scrap.

There where some similar reports about a month ago. This crashes might actually happen if you stay too long in one sector level, but its hard to verify. The high upgrade costs can be tackled by proceeding through the sector progression though (by using the ten fuel option once you feel confident to face tougher enemies). That seems to result in a pretty stable "infinite" gameplay... Not sure what is the most sectors that people ever played.

Ahh... Well, I guess this means I have to start over, shame, I'm normally one that makes sure everything is powerful enough to destroy the next area/level, but I suppose that's not how it works here. No problem, I'll just try again.

From the looks of your ship you would have been well able to handle sector level 2. ;) Sorry for the inconvenience though.

Yeah, when I tried to jump to sector level 2 I tried to upgrade stuff beforehand, but alas the game crashed when I tried to jump there as well. Maybe my grinding did end up reaching the games' limit of sectors.

The problem with running game from steam may be related to steam client rolling back your files or godknowswhat, I won't be much help here, as I avoid Steam like a plague. Maybe Steam users know something about some client's option that checks file integrity or whatsnot?

As for Infinite gameplay - I know everyone have different game style, so it's not fun that some game limitation doesn't allow you to grind one sector endlessly. Although, if you're still happy to tackle on infinite, I would suggest proceeding straight to sector 3 (with a 2nd pass on earlier sector only, if you lack fuel for long-range jump), grind there for a 2 or three passes, then proceed to sector 6 and do the same. After that, you should be able to grind in sector 7 for as long as you want (or die, which is still possible even with fully upgraded ship and awesome equipment), before finally facing boss (or game crash after your 3246235432 pass through sector 7 ;) ).

In my experience, it works better than grinding sector 1 for ages - the stuff you get is just very low, there, and sector 3 is hardly more difficult than sector one (sector 4 have a quite step increase in foe's strength, same for 6 and 7, respectively). Not to mention that I find grinding sector 1/2 ultimately super-boring, but as said, everyone have own play style and sense of whats fun, so I don't want to play "uncle wise" here.

Sleeper - was/is the requirement to post mod load order in case of asking for help specified as requirement in 1st post, or I just imagined it? In the latter case, it might be worth to add it. Generally, helping anyone to troubleshot their problems without that info is quite pointless.
---

On a different note - I'm accumulating another list of bugs, stay tuned ;)

Oh yes please, bring it on, I'm just fiddling with 1.229. :)

Shoutout to Biohazard, Exevolution and SKXproductions. Their LPs continue to benefit development as they turn up a lot of small errors now and then.

Also CE is big in Korea now. :D

Yeah, I don't seem to have a problem starting up with the FTLGame.exe file at all, so it's probably Steam that's causing the problem.

I kept grinding Level 1 because I imagined that Level 2 and 3 were going to be extremely harder compared to Level 1, so I was thinking that getting a lot of high levelled stuff would help me, but alright, I'll do level 2 and 3 as you're suggesting, they're probably not as hard as I'm making them seem.

EDIT: It seems that restarting this game also makes the game crash... I'm seriously hoping starting a new game from the Hangar doesn't make it crash too...

I would strongly suggest re-installing game completely (including clearing mod manager's backups), preferably using DRM-Free version of FTL, if you have such possibility. Otherwise, you might want to consider reinstalling even with the Steam version. Something is really fishy, restart shouldn't cause such problems.

Maybe your Steam client transparently updated game to latest patch without telling you, so you weren't given a chance to delete mod manager's backup files, and now you live in mix of pre-patch and patched FTL, causing problems?
