Some operating systems rename .zips back to their standard file ending automatically for whatever reason. Rename the mod file to
FTL Captains Edition 1.208b.ftl and see if that works.

I am noticing that EL 0.98c has changed the CE default loadouts for the ships. It was easiest to notice for Lanius B, normally it has 2 Lanius and 1 AI crew with 2 Flak Cannons. Now it has 2 Lanius and 1 Egni(vanilla crew) with no weapon(but there is a null/blank weapon - if you try and fire it in combat the game crashes). There are other changes to crew members and weapons for all the ships. CE's Zoltan A used to have 3 Zoltan crew for the start now it is 2 Zoltan and 1 Human with 1 beam and 1 missile launcher, but both look like the basic laser.
It's cool to have EL change the default loadouts, but hopefully 0.98d can fix this glitch.

I think that the Engi A in the latest version of the mod will have problems with killing enemies:

I'll hold off updating the Dropbox links for EL until it's more stable. Sleeper doles off more updates and bugfixes than my internet can keep up.

Engi A has been fixed in 0.98c, but I did not realize there was something wrong with the Lanius ship. I kind of assumed Rannl did test if the showcase works out with each ship, but I did not verify that myself. Guess I can spend another hour with updating this...
/Edit: Apparently Engi A still suffers from that problem. Will be taken care of.

Another attempt to get EL working without any issues:
CE Endless Loot 0.98d for CE and CE Endless Loot 0.98d for CE Infinite
- Engi A loadout fixed for real this time
- "...spread" prefixes for Flaks work correctly now
- Lanius B crew and loadout fixed

No hassle there, the main reason why it did not work now was that the allied prefixes did not work in the first place. So it was basically me messing that up.

I would like to report a bug. In sector 8, I jumped to a beacon and got this event:

If it helps at all a jump previously was a repair station, and before that was just the sector beginning where I made some missiles. If I chose either of the options, the game would crash. I retried 10 times, after which I just took a different route which wasn't bugged and let me destroy the flagship as usual. Another thing I feel is a bug, is that once when I got a surrender offer and could negotiate due to being zoltan, the negotiated offer would require ME to pay THEM 3 drone parts, and I feel like that's not how a surrender goes.

I still have Engi A loadout being the Heavy Ion 2 only. Can this be enough to kill the crew of the other ship?
All other ships look fine.
